Train-it

You will receive a structured work place induction programme, which will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to perform your role excellently.

Our training rooms are equipped with the latest technology to enable quality business focused training solutions to be delivered to our people.

Here at BM, we are really pushing the boundaries in training - we have created a simulated contact centre environment, which gives you the opportunity to experience a "real life" call centre, using equipment that you will find in the workplace.

Development - An Ongoing Objective

Regardless of your role within Birmingham Midshires, you will receive continuous development. Our Training & Development team offers practical, lively and enjoyable programmes with an excellent mix of professional and personal development. Their role is to design and deliver a range of creative and flexible solutions, which meet the rapidly evolving needs of the business.

If you choose a management role, you will benefit from our structured management programme, which promotes learning through theoretical and practical initiatives, consolidating these through role specific development.

Our Education Policy actively supports and encourages the attainment of professional qualifications to meet both individual and business objectives. Where the decision to study is the outcome of a focused career discussion with your line manager, BM will happily support you through this. A number of our people are currently studying for CIPD and MBA qualifications, to name but a few.

BM's Learning Resource Centre, 'Learn-it' contains a range of materials, including CD Roms, Books, Videos and interactive DVD's dedicated to support your learning and development.

As a Birmingham Midshires employee you will have the opportunity to develop your talent - we are committed to capturing this talent and providing a framework for you to develop it even further. This is encompassed through our Group wide initiative - Talent Management. We will work with you in an open and honest way to identify skill gaps and development areas. So that together we will raise your performance, enabling you to fulfil your personal career aspirations within BM or the wider HBOS Group.
