Support Functions

In order for Birmingham Midshires to continue delivering its outstanding results, we have in place a support team that is second to none. We do recruit for positions in the following areas intermittently and, therefore, welcome CVs, which we will refer to when a suitable vacancy comes along.


Human Resources

The Human Resources team advises and supports our 2143 employees. HR approaches are specifically designed to support and deliver against business objectives. In HR we drive the change, necessary to support BM as the Number One specialist lender and promote a culture that motivates and encourages high performance. All this is achieved by focusing on making sure that our people's needs are satisfied and they continue to be happy within their roles, and that they have an understanding of where they fit within the business and what is expected of them. We support and encourage study towards the IPD qualification which is highly recognised within the industry.


Training

Working within the Training and Development Team gives you the opportunity to influence business direction as well as adding critical development to everyone taking part in achieving personal and business objectives. Our team provides role specific training support throughout BM and proactively delivers training and learning initiatives to further develop and progress individuals to higher performance. We have been externally recognised for the fourth time by Investors in People and awarded Best in House Training by Financial Adviser Magazine.

In addition to receiving structured development and gaining a broad knowledge of other business areas, Training and Development members will also have the opportunity to acquire the Certificate in Training Practice, an externally recognised training qualification.


Marketing

Birmingham Midshires is part of the HBOS Group, the new force in banking, and now operates in a number of niche markets.

By combining market-leading products with creative and innovative communications we have become a major operator in all of our chosen markets. Our efforts have been recognised with numerous independent awards for both our products and our marketing campaigns. Within the marketing department you will be at the forefront of developing and delivering the overall business strategy.

Finance

The Finance function in BM offers career development opportunities - including working towards professional qualifications - not only in accounting but in a variety of areas, for example, Compliance, Fraud Prevention and Risk Management.


Business Systems

The Birmingham Midshires' Business Systems team brings together our IT, e-Commerce and Project Management disciplines.

These teams work closely together to provide the innovative solutions that have helped Birmingham Midshires to become a leader in the Specialist Lending market. There is a strong commitment to provide the most effective and cost efficient service to our customers, and a great working environment for both our employees and the university students that are spending their work placement year with us.
