Lisa Winkle - Team Leader
I'm currently a Team Leader within the Mortgage Processing Team at Pendeford, responsible for the mortgage referrals that come to BM from the Halifax, who form part of our wider organisation. This team was formed in March 2003 and we process the applications from receipt through to making the final offer. The challenges and responsibilities that the team has are huge and will have a real impact on our future in the specialist mortgage market.
I chose to work for BM when it was a small building society in the centre of Wolverhampton. I felt it would offer me a secure position in an open, friendly and customer focused company - little did I know how big it would eventually become! I've worked within all areas of the mortgage process and at different levels. I've learned so much since I joined.

Kuljit Bahara - Customer Service Advisor
My name is Kuljit Bahara, I am 26 and live in Wolverhampton. I work at Birmingham Midshires as a Customer Service Advisor within the Savings and Investments department. I joined the company a year ago and in that time I have worked in both sales and service.
My job involves dealing with customer enquiries on the telephone, in writing and via the internet. We also take the time to make our customers aware of the wide range of products and services that we offer and ensure that the products meet the customers' needs. The role entails a high degree of professional competency in customer service and compliance knowledge, we also have access to on-going training and development which is great. Birmingham Midshires offer various types of accounts including Telephone, Internet and Fixed Rate Bonds.
In addition to providing services to Birmingham Midshires customers we also provide savings accounts on behalf of various business partnerships which include The AA, Saga and British Gas.
It's a good working environment with excellent facilities for staff and the people are really friendly and helpful. Before working for BM I had little experience of working in a call centre, I found having the opportunity to help our customers extremely rewarding. During my time at BM I have made lots of new friends. When I am not at work I enjoy playing football and going to the gym and relaxing with friends.
