Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon Events Terms & Conditions
Please read the following carefully.
Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon
- England Athletics Registered Runners are entitled to discounted entry in the Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon and Half Marathon. To receive this discount, please enter your England Athletics Registration Number on the entry form.
- Closing date for postal entries is August 29th.
- Late entries available on race weekend.
- Runners must wear their race number on their front – failure to do this may result in their times not being recorded.
- Open to runners aged 18 and over on day of race.
Carver Wolverhampton City Half Marathon
- England Athletics Registered Runners are entitled to discounted entry in the Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon and Half Marathon. To receive this discount, please enter your England Athletics Registration Number on the entry form.
- Closing date for postal entries is August 29th.
- Late entries available on race weekend.
- Open to runners aged 17 and over on day of race.
- Runners must wear their race number on their front – failure to do this may result in their times not being recorded.
- Open to wheelchair entrants.
Carver Wolverhampton City Half Marathon Relay Challenge
- Closing date for all entries is August 29th.
- Strictly NO late entries on race weekend.
- Leg 1 must not be run by anyone that is also competing in the Full or Half Marathon events.
- Leg 4 must not be run by anyone under the age of 11 (UK Athletics & BARR Permit Standards miscellaneous para 30 age/ distance limits).
- Runners must wear their race number on their front – failure to do this may result in their times not being recorded.
Carver Wolverhampton City 15k Cycle Event
- Closing date for postal entries is August 29th.
- Late entries available on race weekend.
- Open to participants of all ages.
- Family Entry includes two adults and two children (must be under 18) related.
- Individual entrants under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (parent, friend or relative).
- Cyclists are advised to wear suitable protective equipment, including a cycle helmet.
- Cyclists must wear their race number on their back – failure to do this may result in their times not being recorded.
- Cyclists must be aware that they will be cycling on open roads and must be aware of the traffic around them.
Important Entry Information
- The event is held under the terms of the UK Athletics permit scheme and the course is certified as accurate.
- Absolutely no race day entries for the Relay Challenge event.
- Entry fees are non-refundable.
- Race information packs (including information and race number) will be sent to participants from July onwards.
- Assuming that you already have your race number you do not need to register for the event on the day.

Conditions of Entry
By entering the event, you agree to abide by these Conditions of Entry and any race instructions given to you by the organisers and officials of the 2008 Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay Challenge and Cycle Event.
For reasons of safety: Entries are not permissible from people on roller skates, wheelbarrows or carrying various objects for charity etc in any race (charity buckets are acceptable). Cyclists are advised to wear suitable protective equipment, including a cycle helmet.
Entry Fee: All entry fees are non-refundable.
No Animals: Animals will not be permitted with the exception of guide dogs; arrangements for guide dogs must be made with the organisers ahead of the event.
Medical Condition: It is strongly recommended that you train for the event you are taking part in. All participants are strongly advised to consult their doctor prior to undertaking any exercise programme or running/ cycling event. It is the responsibility of all participants to ensure they are medically fit to participate in the event.
Race Memento: Only finishers will receive a medal, t-shirt and goody bag. Non-participants are NOT eligible for race mementos.
Use of Image: By entering the race you give permission for the free use of your name, voice or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion or other account of this event.
Event Cancellation: The event will only be cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. In such an eventuality all participants will be notified as soon as possible. The organiser's entire liability in respect of all costs and expenses you may incur as a result of such cancellation or delay will solely be the entry price you have paid to take part in the event.
Collection & Use of Information: As part of the Terms and Conditions of entry, participants must agree that their personal information (including medical information entered on my race number or collected by Event staff during or after the Event) can be stored, used and disclosed by the Organiser in connection with the organisation, promotion and administration of the Event and for the compilation of statistical information.
Data Protection: The Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay Challenge and 15k Cycle Event complies with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your name will be added to the organiser's mailing list so that we can keep you informed about the other events and activities of the event organisers.
Race Numbers: Participants must complete their details and sign the back of their race number prior to the event.
Race Ejection: The organisers reserve the right to refuse an entrant's attendance at or participation in the Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay Challenge and 15k Cycle Event. We strive to organise safe and enjoyable events and hope that you will help us in achieving this. Any participant who is found in breach of these terms and conditions will be excluded from future events. Please do not put someone else at risk.
Change of Address: If your address details change after you have submitted your application you must notify the organisers by email : marathonsecretary@carvers.co.uk.
Organiser: The organiser is Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon, a registered charity (no 1122078). The Marathon office is based at Littles Lane, Wolverhampton, WV1 1JY

Participants accept that their participation is entirely at their own risk and acknowledge that the organisers shall not be liable for death, personal injury, loss or damage arising from the participation in or as a consequence of the participation in the 2008 Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay Challenge & 15k Cycle Event, howsoever caused.
